I begin booking my author visits each year in March, for visits that will take place the following school year (September to June). Because of the wide range of my work I am able to provide presentations appropriate for a variety of age groups ranging from K-8th grade. My programs include picture books for the younger grades, and discussions about chapter books, novels and the writing process for older grades. I am also available for regional IRA’s and young author conferences as well as author-in-residence programs for schools interested in hands-on writing workshops for grades 4–8. I am also available for SKYPE visits.
To discuss or arrange a visit to your school, please contact me directly at: authorweeks@aol.com or if you are interested in having a booking agent who, for a small fee, will handle all the arrangements for your school including the booksales, feel free to contact:

Here are some comments from schools I’ve visited:
“It was my favorite author visit so far in my 10 year career. I have had nine kids in my office today raving about things you said. You would think a rock star had come to visit yesterday the way the building is buzzing. Thank you for making it so wonderful for me, as well as for my kids.”
—K-6 reading specialist, Wethersfield, CT
“The kids are still talking about your presentation and checking out your books. The teachers said it was the best author's day we ever had. “
—6-8 Media specialist, Pittsburgh, PA
"What a great skyper you are! I don't know how clearly you could see the students when the camera was pointed toward them but they were grinning from ear-to-ear throughout the skype."
-Media Specialist, Dallas TX
It is an amazing experience for all of us to have you in such a conversational setting.
“I had one parent come in and tell me that she had been struggling to get her son to read all year. Since your visit, he has read 3 books.”
—3-5 Media Specialist, Placer Hills, CA
“Thank you for another great presentation! As usual, the feedback was nothing but “GLOWING”!”
—5th grade parent coordinator, Mahopac, NY
“The kids are still saying great things about your visit- you even made the Top 3 favorite events of the year list for 5th grade!”
—Pre-K-5 Librarian, Trinity School, Atlanta, GA

—Senior Coordinator of author visits, Ramstein, Germany
“The day went perfectly – we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Your presentations were the perfect combination of humor, information, education and you even gave the spelling challenged (like my daughter) hope for the future!”
—Parent Coordinator, Chappaqua, NY
“Your way with the children and your respect and love of nature and for children is inspiring.” —Kindergarten teacher, Kalamazoo, MI
Ever since your visit I have heard teachers referring to your presentation while helping children to understand the structure of a story…”
— K-8 Reading Specialist, Lake Forest, IL
“I learned more about story writing in a half hour with you than in the district’s writing workshops.”
—4th grade teacher, Croton, NY
